Captain Brandon is addicted.  He loves to fish from 3 inches of water chasing grubbing reds and tailing sheephead all the way out to the edge of the continental shelf pursuing pelagic and toothy critters.  Mention flies and fly rod and he drops everything to put you on fish.  If you fish with Captain Brandon, you are in for a treat.   Whether sight casting to bay fish or chumming up the big guys, he does it all--well almost all, Captain Brandon does not throw bait in the bay.

Captain Brandon guides out his family ran Getaway Adventures Lodge where he plays top guide and marketing vice president.  Getaway Adventures Lodge is going into it’s tenth year of business and is a completely ran family business.  Mom, Shirley, does all the cooking and cleaning; dad, Bruce, does all the booking, complaining, and bossing.  The lodge is well appointed and caters to corporate and family entertainment and is a great place for business meetings or client entertainment.

Over the last five seasons, Captain Brandon has transformed himself into one of the leading fly guides on the Texas coast.  He has led his clients to twelve state Texas parks and Wildlife records and three International Game Fish Association world records.  He has taken a new approach to offshore, bluewater fly-fishing and has led his clients to many personal bests, their largest fishes ever taken on fly, and in the case of Mako and YFT the first of those species taken on fly in Texas. 

If fly-fishing is not your gig, Captain Brandon is a topwater aficionado.  Simply put, Captain Brandon likes to watch the little guys eat.  He routinely puts his clients on red fish and upper twenty to lower thirty-inch wintertime sow trout.  Although he specializes in skinny water reds on topwater when forced to fish conventional tackle, he loves the wintertime blue back sows…once again, on top preferably.
